Flesh

Lately, I’ve been thinking alot about this verse

John 1:14 (NIV) - The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.

I love the way “TheMessage” translation presents this passage. “The Word became flesh and blood, and moved into the neighborhood”. Jesus moved into our “neighborhood”, he put on human flesh and came into our world. He moved in next-door and experienced life, as we know it. Jesus gave us the best example of how to live and how to love. So how can we not share God’s love with others, how can we not give our hand to help those who are in need, especially if we are truly filled with HIS love? Jesus has called us to step into our “neighborhoods”. And we do that by stepping into the lives of our “neighbors”, the ones we serve. God’s transforming work is definitely happening in Benton Park West. There are a lot of new exciting things that will be happening in the upcoming months at the Salvation Army. (A new computer lab, a teen room, and another basketball outreach I’m working on) I’m so excited to see how God will work through these ministries!
